Strange rook move suggested by the engine in Caro-Kann (Exchange Variation)

Hey everybody happy

In the chess position above, it is white to move. The engine suggests me that the best move is Rc2, or at least is one of them. What is the purpose of this move? Why is it the best? Usually I follow through with the engine suggestions when I'm trying to figure out why a move is being recommended, but when I go through the moves after Rc2, after a while the engine ends up suggesting Rc1 as the best move, hence losing a tempo. What is in your opinion the idea behind the move Rc2 here?

Thanks happy

My ratings considerably below yours so I might not be of much help, but the mention of a rook in the title called me 😄 maybe the move was intended to both protect b1 from any possibly attacks, AND give the c2 rook a chance of moving to e2, resulting in very epic doubled rooks?? (The possible future attacks down the center seem promising to me lol)

Hope you have an amazing day!!
