After 7. ... Nbd7 ?!, 8. h3 would've forced 8. ... Bxf3 9. Bxf3.

9. Qd3 ?! . This move served no purpose but to release a little bit of the pressure on your knight, at the cost of clustering your pieces and giving your opponent the control of the important square e5, through the tactics that followed. Better was Qc2 or Qb6.

14. cxb5 is not a mistake, but I'd perhaps play 14. Rb8, and if 14. ... b4, you can consider replacing your knight c3 - a4 - b2 - d3 ( a slow maneuver, but the closed 14. ... b4 position usually calls for slow moves).

15. Nxb5?! Too greedy. Places the knight in a very dangerous position, and allows the opponent to mess up your pawn structure. Your queen is now temporarily pinned to the f1 - a6 diagonal.

Even if you had played 20. Qd1, your game doesn't look good. You have a restricted position, your f3 square is really weak (and his e5 knight, quite strong, almost forcing f3-f4, weakening your pawn structure.) But 20. Qc3?? sealed the deal.

But you played a much higher rated opponent, and his better position, up to this point, is due to strategical factors, rather than tactical ones. Keep improving!
