Could white have tried 19 f4? Not sure if its any good, but it does ensure some complications arrive immediately!

No I think f4 would be bad. After gxf4...whites position looks dire to me
The entire game no one gave an inch. Both kings sides were open..but safe from attack. It came to an exchange of queens and my opponent declined and lost 2 moves later! Sometimes those little parts in the game make all the difference.
