I don't understand why it's still not a draw. It's black to move, why not just move to g2?

Oh you must mean from move 50, not 58.

Yes I did.

I actually tried to solve the position after Black's move 50, but had to look it up in the tablebase.

Having said that I won from there against Komodo with twelve moves to spare under the fifty move rule.

In the game the final position was apparently not drawn either because Black lost on time at that point.

Generally I would say no, triple pawns is not good. None  of them are protecting eachother as pawns typically like to do.

As long as you're up a rook, the pawn structure doesn't matter (yes, replied after 12 years, but still)
