Two Different Reviews for The Same Game
Can you check again in the app? It might say like the web, but the analysis changed its mind after sometime so that’s why you saw the difference.
I checked again in the app. It didn't change and remained the same as before.
Not really sure. Ask chess.com I guess for the best answer : https://support.chess.com/article/346-contact-us
Someone else might pop out here that knows the answer though
The engine settings on app and web are slightly different.
That explains it all.
That obviously doesn’t explain it all. His first question was “Why are these two different reviews different?” He asked why which you obviously didn’t mention. Then he asked whether the engines are different. Obviously you didn’t answer that too. Also, he asked which is better, and which engine he should trust. Then he asked if he got membership, which type of review he will get. You haven’t even answered one question yet.
I understand that different engines may provide different reviews. Even in the same engine, different settings may provide slightly different reviews too. But any engine in the world should define the same opening name for a single game, shouldn't it? I found two entirely different openings that made me confused a lot.
For the accuracy, I may have taken it wrong for the exact number. My bad. But I can say for sure that two reviews gave me two different accuracy rates.

I forgot that you mentioned the opening. Well, if the opening is different, then it is definitely something wrong. Contact chess.com with the link I provided in comment #4
The "new" Game Review feature is not yet available on the Android app. (The Android app is still using the older Game Report feature). You can read about the new Game Review feature here: Game Review Now Available For All Chess.com Members
There is a difference in how moves are classified when using the web based Game Review and the Android Game Report ( How are moves classified? What is a ‘Blunder’ or ‘Brilliant’ and etc? ), but I believe both the web Game Review and the Android Game Report use the same Accuracy score calculations ( How is Accuracy in analysis determined? ).
It has been stated that the new Game Review feature will be released on Android; see comment form @erik Will this be made available to Andriod/iOS users?
To the OP: yes, the two are different, even for paying members. My guess is that the Android app analyzes at a lower depth, or possibly with an older version of Stockfish, or both. (Several times, Android told me I had zero mistakes, etc., and I was pretty excited, but then on my PC, the review said I had multiple mistakes. Sad face.)
Further, even the web-based game review runs at a lower depth than self-analysis. Sometimes, when the review tells me a particular move is inaccurate, self-analysis (at greater depth) will eventually decide it's the best move.
As for the opening names, I've noticed this too. Just yesterday, the web-based review gave one name for the opening, but Chess.com's own Opening Explorer gave a different name. (And [the other site] often gives a different name from the one provided here.)
Wait, now that I realized that the website gave the name Slav Defense as the opening of the OP which he mentioned that he got that in the app not the website. I guess I’m out of ideas of what is happening.
Recently I played a 10 minute rapid game in the chess.com Android app and read the game review. Then I analysed that game in the web version of chess.com again. The app version and the web version are different in the game review for the same game. Differences are
App
- Slav defense, Modern, Bishop's game
- I made zero mistakes.
- my accuracy rate is 95.6%
Web
- Queen's Gambit Declined, D02
- I made 2 mistakes.
- my accuracy rate is a bit lower than the first one
Why are these two reviews different? Because of different engines by the chess.com? Is the web version better than the app version as the web version review looks much more detailed? Which review should I trust? So far I am a basic member in chess.com. If I subscribe premium membership, which type of review will I get as a paid member?
