I've not had much luck at chess recently, i just came back to play and i've been doing far better than i was for some reason. I've started to make sure i don't sacrifice pieces without reason, and am making checkmates far better.
You got a brilliant move because, when your rook and knight were under attack:
instead of moving the rook and losing the knight (losing 2 pts of material if you recapture the pawn) You moved the knight to capture a pawn and defend the rook, (losing 1 pt of material if you recapture the bishop)
