What does this stockfish move mean?

White (Stockfish) played Qc2 now. Why? I played Bd3 by the way in my game and used SF for blunder-check. Qc2 didn't strike me as a priority right now.

That's one of the great things about computers. They tell you why. They rank your alternatives and tell you why.

You of course can reject their advice and play any move you want.

You could post their analysis here and their ranked alternatives.

That might make things easier.

/ I ran the analysis and the chess.com computer didn't list either Qc2 or Bd3 as first choice.

Qc2 isn't a priority but there's no imminent tactics so it's just developing its pieces to good squares. In some lines it plays h3 first but soon plays Qc2, it's a good square for the Q.

chess.com web-engine is much weaker as it is much slower. It doesn't calculate 16 MNodes/second like my system  - which is just a modern mid-range system. But anyway, Online engine is way weaker.

I could think of that as well. I wonder, however, why specifically this move, and not a piece move first. Maybe there is no answer, that's quite possible. But I always fear I might have missed something. I always see ghosts

I like white,s position after Bxf3 gxf3 and then long castle and opening g file for the rook.e4 also will be protected by f3 pawn

I use these opening lines so much in my games and that is dangerous for the opponent

Bd3 is a good move and should not be a blunder. I don't know if stockfish shows it as blunder or inaccuracy!

Yes, the " Bxf3 gxf3 and then long castle and opening g file for the rook.e4" was also the line I saw but at this stage couldn't figure out if it's really that strong. But if you and SF agree then it is lol.

When it comes ot my move, I believe SF sees it as some good 2nd or 3rd move. I just felt the natural development would be justified here. Seeing ghosts was always my problem. It's one of the reasons I hit the wall. Thanks for your time though.
