What is your best old sicilian defense game?

I have never posted before but i am interested in seeing some of your best "old sicilian defense" games. I recently discovered what a CAPS score is and in this particular game my CAPS was 98.29

granted i am a low rated player and i was playing a low rated opponent. I'm sure that when an opponent plays poorly it makes it easier to have a higher CAPS, also after e4, c5, nf3, nc6, bc4,e6 i reach one of my favorite lines. Anyway i look forward to seeing some of your games, and dont go to hard on mine i probably have about 1000 or more games in my archive that are about CAPS 20

Your opening was not Orthodox at all! However as Black you played well, and the game was short, so I would probably believe you if you told me the CAPS was 99.99%

This is one of my favorite games in the Sicilian. I played it here on chess.com and it features more "Sicilianish" play.

Wait. Sorry for not posting games with the Old Sicilian. It has been a long time since I have herd 2...Nc6 being reffered as the Old Sicilian.

The Sveshnikov variation is a WILD variation. Which I like and have been thinking about adopting. I can show you both crushing victories by Black and White.

Here is an inmortal game from Kasparov.

Now here is a nice win by Black:

I've played all sorts of stuff against the Sicilian. Here's an old OTB game:

I also play the Sicilian myself, as Black. Here's one I played as Black here on chess.com:

@blueemmu, what are your thoughts on 8.Bc4

Supposedly White can punish Black's move order with Bc4. Even if it scores poorly on databases and engines dont like it...

BronsteinPawn

Lol. I think you have a fetish with that second game as Black. I dont know how many times and in how many different threads I have seen you punish Bxc5.

A few reasons for that:

1) I played the game here on chess.com, so I can "prove" that it really happened... as odd as this might sound, I have occasionally been accused of "making up" some of my games from my old OTB days.

2) I was quite pleased with my decision to play 35. ... Rxf3 rather than the obvious (but inferior) 35. ... Bxg4. Both moves open the f-file, but the Rook-sac retains the e6-Bishop for use in the final wave of the assault.

3) The final position (after 41. Qg2+, with White's King in check on g4, confined by the Pawn on g6 and the Bishop on e3) looks like a composed chess study rather than an actual game.

Against that specific move-order, 8. Bc4 might be good tactically. Strategically it's counter-indicated, though... Bg5 tends to work best with Bd3 (or even Bf1) while Bc4 tends to mesh most smoothly with Be3.

Ah... if "Old Sicilian" refers to lines with Nc6, then I don't play that as Black.

Here's an old Russian game from the 1950s in that line:

Tactics are better than strategy!
