What's my rating?

That comment was cruel and un-called for.

You can't really tell someone's rating or how good someone is just by looking at one game, but getting an account here, playing and reading is of course a good way to get a higher rating. After playing a few games here, you can see approximately how good you are, and of course, the more you play the better you get. I've just registered here and only played one game on this site but I've found it to be pretty good so far, especially this forum.
As for your game, I've taken a brief look at it: 4. ... e6 locks your light squared bishop in and cramps your position somewhat. I would probably have played 4 ... dxe4 5. Nxe4 Bg4 in that position.
17. ... Ncxd4? seems like an unneccessary piece sacrifice to me. Did you consider 17. ... O-O-O, and after c4 you play Qb4, afterwards the d4 pawn looks weak.
After 22. Rc1, you could simply have played 22. ... Qf4!, putting your queen in a strong position and still defending that weak c7 pawn. And even if that pawn would fall, it probably wouldn't matter as you would be close to mating anyway, the game would probably continue 23. Re3 Nxf3 24. Rxf3 Qh2+ 25. Kf1 25. Qh1#.
Of course white's play was weak at some points, especially 20. h4?? and 23. Qd2??. But you did a good job exploting his weaknesses and eventually won, congratulations.
I hope I've been able to help with what turned out to be quite a long post. A good tip is always going over your games critically, both the ones you win and lose since there are always things to remember or improve for future games.
Your game really made me laugh. The notations seemed very serious! You play just like me...though just a little bit higher in rating. But I think you belong to an 1800+ rating!!
Seriously, we all start low... Good luck in your next Chess.com play.

kealoha71 has a pretty fun little "put down" box in his/her profile if anyone else wants to play :)
oh yeah, it was a good game darkveggie. just keep playing and pay attention to your own patterns and style of play, you'll be able to learn and improve in no time.
This is my first game on chess.com. I just want to know what my rating should be and how I should focus on improving - tactical/positional, opening/mid/endgame, etc. Any chess coach with backgrounds teaching beginning/intermediate players care to comment?
For the record, I haven't had much formal chess training. I've read one book, 'the complete chessplayer' i think, and spent a week at summer camp in middle school with GM Victor Sherman in the DC area. I've been reading some posts and articles on this website, and I've gotten better from them.
So I know this opening is non-standard. Also, my opponent played erratically with questionable sacrifices, so I can't compare myself to him... There aren't many variations explored
, and I did win this game, but I felt my opening had weaknesses.
