Woot 1st!! Nice blitz gameLaughing

BenTal

Wow, that was a wild one! I'm no good at blitz - I can't hack the pressure! It seems that black was put off by your agression, as they should have won really. Everything is fine for black, who is well ahead after 9. Nc5 but then 10. Qe5 turns the tables in your favour. Re1 would not be not too serious for black, who can block with Be6, but Qe5 removes this option.

You could have exploited the pin on the knight on e4 more forcefully with 13. NxNe4 then NxNe4 14. Qxd3 and the knight is lost. Blacks last mistake, in a playable position was Bd7 where c7 was necessary (after RxNe4+ black can still play Be6), and you convert the game nicely.

A good agressive blitz game - I think I'll stick to the quieter waters of analysis!

you're right in that BenTal, Be6 should've been played. Just a short continuation, !0. ... Be6 11. Re1 was the expected continuation. I've reached that same position many many times throughout the use of this opening. The opening is rather unsound, but black has many chances to give the game right back to white =)

with c7 being played. what would be the line analysis? 14. ... c7 15. Qd4 Be6 16. Rxe4. what's black's response?
