Why 16....Bc6 is a blunder?

Hi,

I was looking through one of my old games. I played as white.

I  was going through my analysis.  Move 16 of black has been termed as blunder.

I can see that probably that move is not required, as it served no purpose? Anything else, which i am missing. Thanks

Exactly how you played it, White gains the advantage after ...Bc6?? when previously Black had a solid advantage. It gives up the edge and the initiative with 17. d5! and the following moves. This is why the previous move from Black was a blunder. Worse is how this ends up opening the e-file (or threats to do so) on the uncastled Black King.
