Analysing some of my brothers chess games. this particuler game seems to be a blundered rook end game by white. my brother played black

24. Rf5 gobbles up another pawn.

25. I disagree with your assessment that white has no play.  Attack the pawn with Rh6, forcing black's rook back into the corner.  Then Rf5 still wins a pawn.

A couple of moves definitely would have made this game playable for white.  Playing Rf5 would have made the pawns 4-5, instead of 3-6 on move 27.

actually if 25 Rf5 was played, black would play 25... Ke6 and hold all the pawns, but blacks kng is weakened and after 26 Rh5 the position looks like a draw

I disagree with your assessment after the proposed 27. Rf2

Black has

27.    ...    Rxb2

28. Rxb2 Kxf6

With a three pawn advantage for black and white having only isolated pawns, black should win.

15 exd5 doesnt work because the king is exposed.

black would play 26...Ke6 and the pawns are defended, he wouldnt play ra2 because the pawn is still free either way

paul if black plays

27 ... Rxb2

then white plays

28. Rxf7+ Rxf7 29. Rxb2

whites still down three pawns to five, but still its better then dropping another pawn
