Hello to anyone who reads this post and thankyou in advance for your time. I am white in this game and am looking to strengthen my defence here. I am a fairly inexperienced player as all of you will no doubt see from my positions. I would like to ask, please, if you would help me in thinking through why and how the pieces could be moved, the reasons why are my main concern as I am trying to play with some level of thought here. I have only just joined chess.com so please before you kick me for what is probably my stupidity in play can I please have a hand in working through this? It's been a very long time since I played chess.

A sincere thankyou to anyone who might help me.

You need to get your King to safety, i.e. castled, as soon as possible and then develop (move) Knights & bishops in 1 hop towards the Centre. Also, study master games.

If it's an ongoing game, that would be illegal..

Kait1975, there's lots of resources for learning on chess.com... and we can make comments here in the forums after your game is finished.

And perhaps someone will play an unrated game or two with you and help you think through some positions... but in general games themselves played online at chess.com are competitive affairs where you aren't allowed to ask people (or computers) for help with moves (...don't worry, we know you weren't trying to cheat) --

are all of you aware that this person hasn't played a game here yet ?

I don't know, actually, I can't see any games when I go to the actual profile but kati's rollover in the forum does show "1 current game"
