Ouch! That must have been a painful, yet respectful way of losing!
It shows that the level of sportsmanship in you is high, despite losing to a woman older than you.
Btw, were you in time constraints at that time?

@asampedas - i had less time than my opponent, but that is no excuse for this blunder. i had different options that were going through my head, and lost my concentration for a second, and made a move with my queen that would have been ok if the bishop was not guarding it, so i made this particular move without evaluating the consequences of the move beforehand. even trading off rooks and conceding the d3 square temporarily would have been better than what i did. that is what i was worried about, but temporarily conceding the d3 square is much better than blundering my queen and losing the game on the spot.
Yo Yo Yo!
If you have been keeping track of my forum posts, then you will know that I was on a 6 game losing streak. Well guess what - now it's 7
This was probably my worst loss - and basically losing in the worst possible way - hanging your queen!
I did get a chance to analyze my train of thought after I made such a horrible blunder and resigned.
So I do have some insights into the cause of such a blunder...
The Chess Demon

There we go
My Game:
Ok, so you know the story. It goes something like this - Guy meets girl. Guy plays girl. Guy blunders a queen to girl. End of story.
Ha ha - actually the lady I played was much older than me, probably closer in age to Alan, the guy I played last week. I think she may be one of the teachers at the Berkeley Chess School.
I have mentioned in previous posts about how my opponents or other chess players in the room have some how been disrespectful towards me, and how that somehow distracted me from the game.
I cannot make any excuses this game. My opponent was very respectful towards me. In fact, I actually felt good losing to her. It was like she was so respectful, and so many of my other opponents or other chess players had been disrespectful, that I actually thought she deserved to win just based on her conduct.
But what I just said had little to do with me actually blundering my queen. Let us face the facts. This is the 1st over-the-board tournament game where I literally blundered a piece, and a very good piece at that. So I blame the Chess Demon, who I am learning more about with each tournament loss I have.
You all may think I am crazy for mentioning the Chess Demon, but remember, wasn't there some famous chess player who recommend players talk to their pieces? Was it Nimzowich? Well anyway, if he said that, then my Chess Demon can't be too far off the wall
