Here is a game played yesterday by a young fellow in my club. I analyzed with him afterwards, and was quite impressed by his attacking flair. Not bad for a 8-year-old ! Enjoy ! Smile

The ending reminds me of one of the Daily Puzzles. Good game!

Why did you play Bd6 when it was so obvious that he would exchange then and push the pawn?

In chess and with humans there is a problem, even if one calculates 150 moves ahead it is of no use unless done properly. That is the case happened with the guy who played against the boy.He goul calculate some moves ahead with the line ...Bd6,d5 or the pawn push but couldn't calculate atleast 2moves ithe alternative line.My request is to avoid the boy from playing from such low rated players,if you want the lad to progress in chess. After all struggling in the beginning is always better and useful than inthe end.

     Thank you,

This was a regular season tournament game in the Children League. This young boy has played in much stronger tournaments, for example the Regional Youth Championship, where he met much stronger opposition and had plenty of opportunities to learn from his mistakes Smile

That's a nice little game, could he become a GM?!

A GM, I don't know, but a decent club player, yes certainly Smile

His opponent was a kid too (11 or 13 yo), so he probably didn't pay attention.
