Blunder was right move

Arrowplay

In this game both my opponent and I thought that I had blundered by trading my queen and a rook for two rooks and a pawn at the center of the board. Even though my bishop was trapped and lost, it was almost impossible for me not to discover a strong attack that overwhelmed him. Very good game at this level. If only I had seen it, then I would have much higher rating.

When White played 25. h4, I replied by taking his pawn, setting off an exchange that looked bad for me. It went Rxd5. 26. Rxd5 Qxd5, followed by 27. Rxd5 and Rxd5.

My opponent then made a comment about me having a "strange plan". With his pawn push to h5, it looked as if my bishop, too, was lost. I thought about resigning, but decided to fight on. Almost immediately my position looked unstoppable.

A good lesson illustrating the strength of having the center.

after 36. .. hxg6, white can just play nf1 with the intention of going to ne3 next move.  If .. f4 then qxe4 looks like white can stop the promotion.  This is just a case of inaccurate play from white.

Arrowplay

Looking at it from the other side, I can see that he should have played Qb5.

hey arrowplay, it looked like a blunder but i think not.  if i were playing your game, i would have done the same thing.  i have played guys who sacrificed more pieces than you did and they beat me black and blue in the end game.  i think your opponent became overconfident when he took your queen's panties.  many players do so.  i say good theory and brilliant execution.  congratulations.
