Complete and Utter Dominance Total Control for 32 moves til mate...

My post was mainly for the purpose of argument. I don't actually intend to post analysis.

It's just that request of "no analysis please" did catch my interest; it's as if you're saying "let me just believe that I played amazingly," or "don't ruin my fun." Smile

And I really do believe you played well, again, with nice methodical logic.

joephilly

you did indeed play a brilliant game with a higher ranked player. What's more fun than that in chess.

Also I'm not quite buying the "new car" analogy.  Perhaps if you had posted a picture of your new car on some website of car fans, that would come closer to this situation...but then, if somebody criticizes your car, there's not a lot you can do about that (since you didn't make it...unlike your moves).

Good point as usual my fine felt-made friend.

However you and all your old cronies should know I'm not buying any of this not buying. "Whatever it is you're selling, I don't want it."

It has become as cliche as natural sales resistance. Just kidding fellas.

But Mr. Prospect, let me ask you this...What is the real reason you haven't yet decided to go ahead with your wise "Yes" to the offer today?

*I reserve the right to ban future purchases of any and/or all offers.

asadasadasad: It's wonderful that you have found an improvement, but keep in mind you're ruining the entertainment value of the thread. Your post will probably be deleted.

In all seriousness though: it seems to turn out that even though white loses a whole rook, his position is still not that bad Smile

Hmm, I should see if I can't find a game in my archive that I could post with lengthy analysis praising my own brilliance after each and every move.

You mean you wouldn't let the fear of what others may think of you dissuade you from showcasing a game in the game showcasing thread?

You must have a pair made out of steel! That's livin' on the edge!!

Acier inoxydable, matey, and I pretty much need a donkey and cart to haul 'em from one place to another. But that's not the point. I might have the huevos to let someone else look at one of my games, but it takes a special kind of genius to comment on my own play like it would have taken Morphy, Capablanca and Fischer on the best day they ever had to score a half-point off me.

I mean, I used to write that kind of stuff for my own amusement back when I was like thirteen and stuff, but it was on paper and in private.

What did you have in mind in case of 4... Qxb4? That looks to me as if it chomps the pawn and wins a tempo but I may be missing something as I often do.

I don't even remember. It was just a quick blitz game and I doubt if I had anything particular in mind at the moment other than what was played.

Why on earth would anyone dissuade higher rated players from giving them advice?  People pay for this service.

Good question. The reason I've done it is because I enjoy finding things out through self-study, plenty of trial and plenty of errors.

Being spoon fed moves and ideas just takes the thrill out of suffering to own it.

Sure, it's nice to get an occasional confirmation from outside, but ultimately the validation needs to come from within.

Elubas

I'm sure that's why. I'm all for studying on my own too, but I'll take a good piece of advice if it's handed to me.

Rehya

lol I came back to look at this again and it's still funny Wink

thanks for that.

Same here

@Gil-Gandel

That's true. The nerve of those posthumous all time greats to presume they'd garner even the chance to score half of a half point against you post mortemly.

Touching story about your secret activities locked in your childhood.

Should I take the inference my chess has progressed past pre-pubesence after only a short 8 months here?

@Elubas thank you for your unwavering support during the most critical time of this grave matter of consequence...it has not gone unnoticed and will not be forgotten!

@Rehya and @Daniel90: Thank you. Not to take away from the members who posted previously, but you two are a credit to this community.

Keep up the good fight!

Hey, what happened to the OP's face?

Gil-Gandel

Gosh, I didn't notice there'd been another reply. But it's small loss - I mean, the kind of guy who can show complete and utter dominance total control for 32 moves til mate is naturally going to chew me up and spit me out in a war of words too.

learningthemoves

@AndyClifton it's just always glowed like that from right living.

@Gil-Fandel nah, just because I can doesn't mean I will.

AndyClifton

Yeah, but now it looks sort of spotty (or squarey).  I think maybe you have pox or something.
