El Kabong 🎸♘

When I was a kid I use to watch "Quick Draw McGraw" cartoons and he did a reoccurring antic where he smashed his guitar in somebody's head as he screamed: "El Kabong"!

I was like 5-6 years old and one of our relatives that was about 3 years older than me became a victim of me doing the "El Kabong". As he was much bigger than me I could not "El Kabong" him freely, however when the dinner was served while he was eating I caught him off-guard while he was distracted and I screamed: "Ellllll KABONG!!!"

I broke my guitar... evil

Some time ago I watched a youtube video of Gotham Chess named "CRUSH French and Sicilian Defense with The Wing Gambit"

So all this time I wanted to do the knight fork that he speaks of at 11:40 of the video just as much as I wanted to do the "El Kabong", and for long long time it alluded me. But guess what? meh Finally: "Ellllllll Kabong!" grin

So guess what, if you click on the picture above you will see that game for yourself.

Oh my goodness! I love this suspense and your story! And now I'll study the game - SUCH FUN!!!

And as the name implies "Quick Draw McGraw" was very agile and speedy with his gun-swinging bravados. And when you study the game you will see the trick is to make fast moves, as to sell the moves as being pre-moved to the opponent so he thinks you blundered a knight and then you chase the queen and then push back the knight on c6 with d4-d5 pawn push. And that is the commence to all the fun. There are so many delicious tricks and stunning mates that it defies the believe. surprise

Just remember I did not say pre-move, but play the moves so fast that it appears as pre-moves. And therein lies the essence of the trap. happy

This is the scenario

FIRST GAME DISPLAYED: Your pawn move #3 b4 wasn't a miss - I think it was a tactic but I might be wrong. You wanted to pull that c5 pawn off protecting d4!! I will remember this!

I have NO IDEA what OP was thinking to Nd8!!! They could have Na5 which would set them up for Nc4 safely!

But oh, the fork! "Ellllll KABONG!!!" is right!!! Beautiful game! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Yes b4 is to distract the c-pawn and black knight at move 10 better not be touched and if black is smart he will give back the piece and rather try to develop his kingside with moves like "e6" or "Nf6".

You can try to analyze the black knight's other moves like "N to b8" or "N to a5" with an engine to see what you shall play versus those moves.

And who knows, you might be "El Kabonging" some poor schmo. Just be patient. Real patient! happy

I almost "El Kabonged" another chap. I say "almost" because just as my older cousin he evaded the "El Kabong", yet I was well prepared:

So click on "Quick Draw McGraw"'s gun...

All the first 19 moves, up to (19. Be5+) were my preparations! That is staggering stuff if you know how bad my memory is! grin

And it all took under 45 seconds to get there! If that is not "Quick Draw" than I do not know what is... meh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
