Guess the move: drunk games

I got drunk and completely ruined my game....funny and dissapointing at the same time, all my pieces were backed by another, she was on the ropes...just take a look:

The funny part is that after the game my rank improved, where hers went South lol

Guess the move (please avoid/simplify text responces as I'm new to the coordinent aspect; I play casually :])

I encourage all to post their drunk bumblings as well.

You must have been drunk, you missed capturing the queen 2 times!

17. Nc7+, is a Royal Fork.  After the king moves.......take the queen!

22....Qxe6?  Black Queen walked right into the range of your knight.

Madness.  I play super crappy when I'm drunk.  I guess alcohol and chess will never be friends...

RandomPrecision

You wouldn't have done that badly if you didn't have a pathological obsession with not taking your opponent's queen.

I don't know why beginners always seem to go for this rook pawn forward, move rook forward routine in the beginning of the game. Anyway after she did that (I'm trying to avoid using notation) you could have moved your king's pawn forward two spaces for free, since your bishop would then be attacking her rook.

After you checked with the knight on c7 (move 17) you had a choice of taking either her queen or her rook, but took neither for some reason. After that you were still miles ahead and should have won easily, the queen-losing blunder notwithstanding.

I would find some drunken blunderfests of my own to show you, but I can't remember where they are...

SerbianPlayer

Lol its ufnny how black missed mate like 6 times.. and you did pretty good for a drunk except missing her/his queen a couple times

gamers1700

Yeah I concidered the rook thing, than forgot I think lol. Happens alot with Asperger'sUndecidedlol

I sobered up the day after and had a light drink...joy, more blunders lol

I didn't know about the queen bit though, didn't really pay attention to that lol

In her defence, she is a bit of a re-curring rookie...and my win/loss record reflects the opposite of my rank, that's the last time I castle weak-side on purpose >.< (first game)

Oh btw, according to the style of play I was going on, what do you think would have been the best approach for me (casual remember, I go by feel)?

AkayaandMe

Yes, as you can see.....I don't play much and don't even have the excuse of drinking behind my missing Mate so many times.....and I was lucky to keep my Queen!! Thought he'd have it several times and have me pinned!  =)

I can answer that, they just don't see the many other and more feasable options of playing in combination with pawns and making space in the backline for the rook to potentially strengthen D or CA/A

hatman123

a really weird game..

gamers1700

Yeah, I know! lol

For me, alcohol seems to translate to something really odd or funny, this just being one example lol

Fonix

I think your opponent was drinking too

gamers1700

she said it looked like it too, but that was unfortionately not the case lol

AkayaandMe

Maybe I will drink next game so that I can see what it does to my game....maybe it would help.....stranger things have happened!   =)

cat_of_chess

Only noobs drink and play chess

if you wont to win do not drink and play chess

gamers1700

Speak for yourself, it is feasable that one would play JUST to have a good time and engage oneself. Besides that, you open yorself up for inprovment on different levels after you catch your obvious mistakes.

oinquarki

The best strategy for winning drunken chess games is to be the designated driver.Smile

AkayaandMe

I didn't put as much thought into the game as others I guess. I was just 'playing'.....which most people play a lot of games when drinking......billards, darts, video games, dating.....the list goes on......why not chess???

It does..... I know.......but I've seen it!!! It does exist and at many bars!!!

and people drink while playing golf too!! Out in the sun, driving a cart, hitting a ball with a metal stick....the more I think about it.........most sport games involve drinking......and you play chess sitting down.......which one would have to think that would be an even better (safer) game to drink while playing....

but who am I to say what people should do to entertain themself?

forkU

That was one of the funniest games I've seen. Drunken chess. It can be the new beer pong.
