lol. don't know how much of a compliment that is.
It's the better way I know .
...Well, he have enough people to praise him so I keep a fair balance so he won't become a divo.

Ouch! Who says white can't get a good attack going against the Caro-Kann?
You'd think theoretically this variation would be a bit better for black. But obviously black went wrong somewhere. I don't know about 13...Qb6. If you are going to move the queen out of play why not Qxb2? Otherwise Qd6 keeping the queen more centralized.

He's very good tactically, obviously! I'm always amazed how he rattles off combinations when he does his videos and tv shows. I do wonder what part of the game kept him from becoming a GM. It seems like there's a lot of players where one aspect of the game becomes too boring and burdensome at the highest levels.

I don't think any part of his game kept him from becoming a GM. I think he doesn't have the time to devote to his own chess because of his many responsiblities, especially all that he does for us here at Chess.com. But he may end up with the GM title anyway!
I just think becoming a GM it's a bit more difficult that you draw it.
Obviously, fist of all you have to be active playing tournament, but you also have to go over 2500 so you have to play strong tournaments, getting always to results, you have to get two favorable results. At the beggining GM consideration was only reserved for those who was actually contenders to be World Champions. This is no longer true (and some think GM title should dissappear) but to get to be GM is not trivial thing.
Just concluded in the last round of the Copper State International.
A nasty attack
