Oh don't pat yourself on the back. You fell for the trap Your opponent misplayed the trap and resigned once they realized it.

Do pat yourself on the back. Your opponent should not chicken out that easily.

Well done, Jo.

All that hard work and practice has paid off. happy.png

#3 about this trap I supposedly fell for, how do you imagine it would’ve played out if she hadn’t made a mistake?

How should I know how the game would play out? What I do know is White maintains the advantage if she captures the pawn on d4 first. On a different note doesn't WIM stand for Women's International Master?

Yes WIM stands for woman international master, also I assumed you would know what the trap achieves since you mentioned I fell for it, I didn’t even notice there was a trap in the first place tbh

Okay I guess I earned your sarcasm. I'm not one for the self-aggrandizement especially when it's unearned. You didn't "beat" anyone. A player was winning, a player blundered and subsequently resigned. "I beat a WIM"...no you didn't. But hey...whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

There is a WIM only 1500?

"She sacrificed a minor piece to displace my king" No. She blundered.

My thoughts exactly...but I viewed her page and while her Rapid Rating is 1500 she has the Master designation on her profile and 2000+ ratings in other time controls....go figure.

#9 chess is a draw with perfect play from both sides - in other words, it’s literally impossible for one player to “beat” another without some kind of mistake or blunder from the other. Following your train of logic, nobody ever truly beats anyone else therefore we should never be happy about achieving anything because it was due to a mistake from the other side and therefore “unearned”. What a miserable way of treating this game. I’d like to say but hey, whatever makes you feel better about yourself as well… but if the only way you can do so is raining on other peoples parades you should just shut up and wallow in your miserable thoughts on your own. Twat.
