Checkmate the black with 2 knights!

I'm not quite sure if the poster is incredibly weak or having a laugh....

Anyhoo (for the sake of beginners who may read the above rubbish): only in the most unlikely, exceptional cases is it possible to mate with two knights, otherwise it is a draw; the final position is not mate but stalemate.

To enlarge, the stronger side can mate with K+2N v K only if the loser cooperates; otherwise it is sometimes possible if the weaker side has a pawn. Black, above, had far better lines of play and as Simon correctly says, the final position is not a win for White but a draw.

Fair enough Eternal.

Checkmate is when you check (threaten to capture) the opposing king and no opposing pieces can capture your checking piece, no opposing pieces can move inbetween the check and when the opposing king cannot move to another square without being in check. Checkmate wins the game.

Stalemate is when none of the opposing pieces including his king can make a legal move. The opposing king is also not in check.
