Me 1100 beginner vs 1500+ player

So I'am a beginner who started playing chess when I was 7 years old with my 3 other cousins of nearly same age, playing the game just to past time(unaware tactically about pins, forks etc.) for less than 3 months and stopped playing the game till I returned last month with the basic knowledge of chess moves and rules(am 16 now). I thought of making chess as my sport and started searching in the internet for tips in improving in chess and have an idea as well about the professional chess scene. Here, I came across chess.com which I saw first in my google search of "play chess for free" and started playing a couple of games. I came across a forum post saying something like "reading chess books" will improve my game, and I did buy "Storming the Barricades" by GM Larry Chrisitiansen. Having read on and off for 6 days, I came across this game where one plays a "Yugoslav attack"(Zelcic-Forster Mitropa Cup 1998)

. I don't even understand why they call it like that but the only thing I understood were 3 things: castle queenside, pry open the g-h file with raging pawns and hunt the king. So I don't know if this game is really a "Yugoslav attack" but I applied what I learned from that game in this game I just played.
