Yep! It works like a charm, plus it was innovated by my two favorite players: Aron Nimzowitsch and Richard Réti

Richard Réti even used it in his famous game were he defeated Capablanca

R. Réti - J. R. Capablanca New York 1924, 1-0

Interesting. What is the point of it? Queenside space?

yes queenside space and a counter fianchetto on the a1-h8 diagonal. The few games I've gotten to play with it have gone like this:

You basically end up in symmetrical position except the b-pawn is on b5 for white and b6 for black.

This game is too good. One of the few losses Capablanca had

This my favorite game! Also thanks for putting it here, I was about to do that!

cricket7890

This is a very clean game I played in a 30+5 Lichess tournament a few days ago with this system against the King's Indian Defense

cricket7890

It's actually quite funny that Capablanca later used this system himself in 1929.

Here is one of the first games in this system:

Surprisingly Réti was playing black! I guess he was inspired a bit by Nimzowitsch to play this system against Capablanca!!

Also this game Nimzowitsch - Réti went on to move 90 or something in a queen endgame, according to My System by Aron Nimzowitsch.

No one hates playing it. It’s aggressive and fun. I used to be a French main (don’t kill me.)

Why would we kill a smart person who knows how to pick their openings?
