definately much smaller than 46 moves!!!!
A nice attack with some weird final mate.
Nice game. Computers are such greedy materialists. Engine may like snatching that g pawn (14...Bxg5), but it looks way too dangerous to me.
I thought you might find this game amusing. I dug this out of my archives from last year. An English with g4 and Rg1, but, of course, a much different move sequence.
I like the 3D style but had to stop using it when I kept mistaking a fianchettoed bishop for a pawn on it's starting square. The bishop and pawn are too similar but I'm going to start using it again as part of a plan this year to use as many different board and piece styles as possible so I don't get used to just one style.
A hilarious smoothered mate!
Not really a smothered mate since the king isn't completely surrounded, but that is a nice looking mate, congrats!
the bishop in the corner
Yes, the bishop cuts off escape squares, otherwise it wouldn't be checkmate. However, in a smothered mate, the king is surrounded by other pieces, like this example:
I was hoping playing qxf6 would be too good to resist...
For black, the good news is he doesn't lose his queen to a knight fork; the bad news is, he's checkmated.
Kingside attack and mate with knight and bishop.
What a surprise! Rg1 and g4!
Black's 12...g6 was weird. I thought he was going to follow up with Re8, Bf8 and Bg7, but no. Nice game.
An interesting Slav defense.
Qc7?! and Ne4!? shouldn't work but if they do... I would've probably tried 6.Nfd2 to play f3 next and kick the knight out. That b3 has left a lot of holes though, you don't play b3 unless you've developed some pieces first. Overall a strange game, you navigated the complications better.
A nice attack with some weird final mate.
