Problem bishop saves the day at the end of a cramped Queens Gambit declined game

I had a really great daily game the other day which I would consider some my best chess play. My opponent was highly rated too (or at least in comparison to me - 1000 against 1500, at the time). It ended in a draw, which I'm totally happy about, but I realize I blundered with 34. ... Bf5 when I should have kept the opposition with 34. ... Ba5. If I had done so, could I have won? (I'm Black, by the way.)
Annoying how QGD seems to always result in a cramped position for Black, but sometimes it works out like this.

You played pretty bad (No offense) but you still did a great job turning the game around! Good job 😃

Any general tips for improving? I know I tend to overlook my opponent's threats.
