Wow, what a smoking game, great post. The more I look at it, it looks like 11... h5 was a positional mistake that led to black's later disaster with an open h-file. 14...hxg5 made matters worse, but retreating the knight on f6 to g8 or h7 looks pretty ugly too.
Black ought to have castled on move 9 I say. Would have prevented that mess
Anyway, the likely continuation with Be6 (necessary to create escape square for king) g8Q+ Kd7 Qxc8+ Kxc8 Bxd2 leaves Tal with two knights and two bishops and his opponent with one of each. No wonder black resigned
dam, that was crazy skill on tal's part, but come on sviridov, when someone flat out gives you a rook and a queen, something's up
Developing the light squared bishop so early before castling might have been a slight miscalculation. Great game by Tal.
Nf6 probably wasn't the best move available. I think I would have played e5 and forced white to waste a move retreating the knight. And who was this Sviridov person, anyway? Chessgames.com only shows this one game so it's not hard to see how Tal could have crushed him so quickly, so it is hard to call this game a brilliancy by Tal if he was playing a nobody.

4... Nf6 is a book move, nothing wrong with that. I am not sure of this Sviridov person either but it was still a very good game by Tal. This is an excellent example why it was dangerous playing the Sicilian against Tal, especially the risky dragon.
Wanted to share this interesting game. Where do you think his opponent went wrong ?
