i agree
Can we have better rapid / classical tournaments here on chess.com?
Chess.com should add classical
I agree but stalling could be an issue knowing how many people already do it
Good job getting to 2100, Honchkrowabcd! I just took a month long break from chess because I was losing. I will resume playing now.

thank you, I also took a short break actually. Good luck with your games
chess.com please add this there aren't any good long time control tournaments here and many people would like it
Thank you so much @Honchkrowabcd and everyone, appreciate the feedback.
We might have Classical at some point.

like tournaments or just a new time control?
cuz all you said was "We might have Classical at some point" and I don't know if you are talking about adding classical tournaments or just a new classical time control, and also I don't know if you are addressing the stuff I said in the post about why I think the current long time control tournaments are flawed
For having opponent with same interest / passion for playing long (classic) time control - I mean not anything under 30 min only, but really longer such as 45.45 / 60.30 / 90.30, we need a club.
and fortunately there is such club already that's been running since April 2022 for 3.5 years continuously and keep getting stronger.

Cool, can I join the club?
also do you know any good rapid tournaments, I'm interested in playing classical but my favorite time control is rapid and also I don't know if I have the time to dedicate hours to a single chess game
jus go to lichess.
adjust bro, it's not that hard.
i mean it could be hard for a troll like you, but still.
One of the main reasons people improve when playing OTB over online chess is the fact that the games are longer and the players are more serious because it's in a tournament. Meanwhile on chess.com we don't have any long time control tournaments, the only tournaments we have are blitz/bullet or if the tournament is rapid it's either only like 4 rounds long, has barely any players, or is in the arena format (which I don't think works well for serious rapid tournaments, since it depends way too much on how the games last).
Basically what I think they should add maybe like 9+ round tournaments that are either rapid or classical time control. Either they could be like a few hours long (which is pretty long but if people are willing to seriously play they can dedicate a few hours to it) or over the span of days or weeks where you play like every day at the same time or something, like an otb tournament.
There could be like a button to sign up for a tournament in play and then it automatically creates it with people at the same rating as you because rn when I play in the chess.com tournaments half the time I'm fighting like an under 1000 rated player and it's not very fun and I'm sure most people want to fight people at their level.
And I know a bunch of people will be like but there will be a bunch of cheaters. And yeah there are cheaters but if chess.com just don't put any rewards or very little (like just a badge or award or xp or something), people won't be that much more incentivized to cheat than normally, also most cheaters get banned easily anyways, and even if there are like a few cheaters I (and probably many other people) would still play this
Maybe they could even like somehow rework the leagues system into something like this because a lot of people don't like the league system but that's probably too much effort
