I hate to say this, but he may be using outside assistance. No one can have a streak of 20 wins with one loss at the amateur level.

That's not even what makes the cheating so obvious.

He could just be a good player pretending to be new, but that's not the case...

this is a bit suspicious. how could he have just started playing chess a few weeks ago and is already beating 2000+ players????? everyone starts somewhere, all the world champions probably hung a billion pieces when they started. either your son has been secretly studying chess for the past five  years or he is using a chess engine.

Or using outside assistance

chess engine == outside assistance

In his latest game, he found this rook sacrifice. Could anyone find that? The rook sac I mean?

the computer says that the game is still mainly equal after bxb7, probably because of how exposed the king is. however that wasn't really a sacrifice because the only reason he checkmated at the end was because white stupidly blundered their queen.

Right, but how would a human even find that? Maybe a GM.  Anyway, I think that was a mouse slip, the queen blundering.

This is entertaining at best and disheartening at worse. You’ll all be ashamed to learn that every single thing I’ve said is absolutely true and maybe just acknowledging he’s THAT good might eliminate a lot of all this second guessing as to HOW this is happening. If nothing else all this banter has confirmed what i suspected at the outset. He’s skilled beyond reason and should be encouraged and coached to ascertain his true potential. This is ALL home grown pure analytical power in a chassis that’s 12 years old.

What does that even mean?

I am sorry. What if you watch your son play a game?

DreamscapeHorizons

Have u got him in some real tournaments yet? If not, let him play in a few with kids his own age.

Entertaining... I wish I could say the same about you. After being around chess for ~20 years of my life, I regret to inform you that your type of troll is extremely:

1. Common
2. Lazy
3. Boring

I doubt you're a father with a 12 year old. I assume you're a dumb kid who is trying his best to get attention and recognition that life has so far denied him, and the other account is either you or your dumb friend.

---

What's bad is that this reply, while critical, is still giving you attention, so you like it anyway... mostly I'm making this post for the other kids who seem to be on the fence about whether this is real or not... it's obviously not real, and the fact that so few understand it makes this place (chess.com forums) unattractive to me.

Rxpusher69

I have. I have no clue as to why he’s making the moves he makes either until much further along. Not sure what else to say here except what I’ve already divulged. He lives alone with me and we are inseparable unless he’s at school.

What if he isn’t trolling?

Rxpusher69

He hasn’t gotten into any tournaments as this journey literally just started.

if your child is 12 years and 2000 he's most likely one of, if not the, strongest U13 chess player in the US. Not to mention he started a few weeks ago. If he really is that much of a child prodigy, why haven't we seen him in the news yet?
