1-0 for ragequiters

Is Chess.com advertising on your thread?
It would be funny if I did violate the forum rules because I 'advertise' for chess.com.
But why the change suddenly? To prevent free members from doing simultaneous games?
Ah well, at least this change stops the "I pressed new game but get two new games instead" flaw.

I don't understand what your point is.
If your opponent:
- Leaves the game
- Take minutes for forced moves
- Let the timer run out
then you have to wait until that game is finished, whether it is by waiting minutes to let the server stop the match, or until my opponent's timer runs out.
In the past, that is like a week ago, you could start a new game, while the other one is still not finished (the game is practically won, position-wise), so that I do not have to wait for these opponents with bad manners.
Usually I did not give a f but now their bad manners hampers my continuous play, as I cannot start a new game while the other one is not finished.

Wait...live games? People play more than one live game at a time?
I can not even comprehend this.
I've heard people who do play simultaneous live games, but those are exceptional cases and done with long time controls.
Oh, I see. I didn't know that you weren't allowed to play more than 1 live game at a time. I play online games, so I can play as many as I want at once, although I only have the brainpower (and time) for 1 or at most 2 at a time.
And by the way, "1-0 for ragequitters" still doesn't make sense to me, even though I now understand what this thread is supposed to be about!

Because now they actually annoy you with their stalling attitude. Their logic: "HA, since you totally beat the f out of me, I let you wait until my 10 minute timer reaches 0. Now we are both winners!"
An usual respond would be "/care, I start a new game". Now I must wait til that game is truly finished.
Premium members get more features than free members? The horror!
This is changed since last week. Before I could start a new game, if the other game was totally hopeless for the opponent, and yet he decides to stall it by waiting till his timer runs out.
Hence the next time if you want to be a smartass, at least read the other posts. I already stated in there that this used to be possible for free members, but is not anymore.

It used to be possible, until they changed it last week.

They may be annoying with their "stalling attitude"..but hey, they want to stay at that skill level forever, let them. Sooner or later you will move up in strength and leave them behind. Anyway, if you are patient they lose anyway and since they are unable to play multiple games at once like every other free member, not only do they lose, but they truly wasted their own time.

I agree with your post 100% about about time wasters and their Comments section normally reflects if they are habitually pains in the butt. Just block them for future. Problem is you always read it after you have been staring at the screen for who knows how long. I generally play 10mins each way and if an opponents time is still in double digits per second (ddps) and I can see the board is in his favour but with a smart move or two it could be saved, I would offer a draw if he is going to lose on time. If I am getting a good whipping, I'll resign.
What wrecks my head is when you are clearly in the ascendency, firing on all cylinders and they play to win on time. I do ask for a draw if I see I am going to lose purely based on time and there are a few players who make the gesture. More often than not, there will be a rematch and potentially a Chess.com buddy.
I can appreciate that the super quick games of 2:30 -3:00 minutes is a different proposition or is it? I often watch these players win on time when they are clearly on the retreat. Thoughts?

Stick to analyzing your games and improving your playing strength.
Leave the hyper-psychological mumbo jumbo behind? Just a thought.
P.S., Game in 10/5 (or slower) should solve most of your time problems.

My usual answer (that ruins my online chess over 10 min / player because I use it even in positions where thinking is required) is "/care, I'm going to see the forums / the news / my email" (remember, you are on the internet).
Because I love waiting for them to come back or see them taking 5 minutes for forced moves in live games.
As a basic member you are unable to play multiple games at the same time. You can upgrade to a Chess.com Premium membership for pennies a day and get full access to Live Chess and other features like Videos, unlimited Tactics Trainer, and more!
