If your creating a group your more likely to get new members by having those large points than having say 5 pts. Ok say 50 pts but you get the point. They will join as they figure you know something about playing here and issues that come up. And they might be able to ask you questions.

Ok, in that case i think points could be very helpful. I also agree that there should be some kind of indication that you are an active/community player :)

I just clicked on most active members, and 5 out of 9 are playing for free. I understand fully if people have serious income problems, but anyone playing on here has at least a computer and enough money for an internet connection.

It would be nice to see that all of the most active members are also paying for the privilege of spending hours and  hours and hours on the site.

Just my 2 cents.

they should be fined!  (a 2c charge would teach 'em good)

I've moved up from the 3rd person on page 2 to the 2nd on page 2. Soon I'll be on the first page of the most active list too!

it's actually quite easy to get member points.. just spam a forum with random letters.

Most active member? Dosen't that just mean that the most active members are spending too much time online?

Some have super fast computers. And being active in certain activities you can get points one after the other.

so if u become "one of the most active members", does the chess.com staff make u a premium/gold/diamond chess.com member for free?

lol. You must be new here. Sorry.

Hahahaha ok now i got it all out. With all these free seek hounds here. The end result will be 80% of the players that did not play would all start getting points for a free membership. Leaving the members that did play really ticked. And Chess.com would lose money.
