I ended up splitting my vote between the 2 groups, dropping out the 2 weakest and ended up with Atkins, Unruh, bauer and Redman. Thanks for the comments.

After a long hiatus I rejoined the USCF this year. WHen I first singed onto the USCF website, I also (rather casually) signed up as a voting member.
Boy did I not know what I was getting myself into.
In addition to the official 2013 ballot itself, I have received no less than 6 pieces of mail supporting 2 competing groups for the 4 open sieats on the USCF Board.
The candidates running, in ballot order, are:
1. Mike Atkins
2. Chuck Unruh
3. Randy Bauer
4. Beatriz Marinello
5. Tim Redman
6. Ruth Haring
Of these 6, Atkins, Unruh, Bauer and Haring appear to be running together and are endorsed by retiring Board member and longtime chess organizer Bill Goichberg. Marinello and Redmen are endorsed by former USCF President Steven Levy.
Anyone have any insight or comments about the candidates, or, more importantly, the underlying issues in this election?
