I would bet my money on Gukesh winning. The extremely long time controls and long drawn out matches with very little time pressure suits his style perfectly. Gukesh thrives in such formats.
The 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss—Open and Women—are part of the World Championship cycle, taking place September 4-15 with $625,000 and $230,000 prize funds respectively, and determining two of the eight players who'll make it to the next Candidates Tournament of each section.
The following players are eligible to participate in the FIDE Grand Swiss:
Open: The top 100 players by rating, the world champion, four continental spots, four players invited by FIDE, and four players invited by the organizer.
Women: The 44 top women by rating, four continent spots, four players nominated by FIDE, and four players nominated by the organizer.
