2300 !!!

Well someone is 2300, and someone's being bullied by 1500s...

15|10 is still too fast for me. If I could get paired, I would play even longer time controls.

I have pretty much zero interest in Blitz.

Judging by the number of opponents that get accounts closed even where I had no thoughts whatsoever that they had been cheating, I think that it would be near impossible to have an account for years! Almost everyone that gets banned has a newish account... and do you think that genuine chess players have nothing better to do than watch an engine play someone ?!?!

Three of the main factors in achieving 2300 were:

a) Don't waste time on Blitz which does nothing to help your main game and probably actually weakens it.
b) Head straight to game analysis every game (forget replay requests) and go through the game, even if you won.
c) Do lots of hard puzzles.

Hi I would like to play a couple 15•10 games

I wanna see if blitz is better or rapid

Cause I play blitz mostly but you played mostly rapid

BigChessplayer665

Cause my philosophy is

A) don't waste time on rapid unless it is irl you can always analyze your blitzs games

B)figure out how to win against your

opponent mistakes do matter but try to make mistakes at a higher level /make less stupid mistakes tactics and positional play are the most important which you CAN learn in blitz

Santoy

Blitz is a very different game. It's like playing table tennis to try to improve your lawn tennis.

Not to say that either Blitz or Table Tennis are bad games in their own right. Not for me though.

Blitz is swindle chess

It is the definition of "skill issues "

Rapid is more positional chess

Trying to nuke your opponents position within the first ten moves

#31 Blitz worked well for you but rapid works best for most people.

Thanks @Tychoojul12. Always nice to hear from such an accomplished player.

#27 why do you never play blitz here

Getting pretty sure that 2300 is my ceiling. It has been my ambition for so long that I feel a certain pressure as soon as I see 23xx.

I got there playing dubious openings such as Black Lion, Glek, Grand Prix and lots of old Nimzowitsch lines (one of my heroes) but all of a sudden, they are not as effective any more and I feel slightly embarrassed playing them; but I hate theoretical battles.

Not sure what to do now !!!

I main the Grand Prix and personally I don’t have any ambition to climb further than 2300 rapid.

You can't just randomly accuse people of cheating, especially if you never played against them. Imo.

Sole focus has been reaching 2300 in 15|10. Motivation has waned since and I am currently on tilt!

I may try a few Blitz games for fun. I have lost many games by panicking when I am low on time so it may help that aspect.

It frequently takes over five minutes to get paired even with a wide tolerance (-200, +400). A great feature for me would be an audible notification to save having to continuously watch although the new pairing animation is great.

I don't play Blitz anywhere; it is not of any interest. I don't like the fact that top level classic chess tournaments, especially the World Championship, use fast time controls as tie-breaks. To use my earlier analogy, its like top tennis players at two sets all determining the winner with a game of table tennis.

bring back kasparov-karpov 1984!!!! (okay maybe that's too intense)

Nothing wrong with the old format: set number of games (20 or whatever), defender gets draw odds.

I am new here, but I'm thrilled to be part of this community and learning something new every day. How is your project coming along? Today, I want to share my experience with a website called https://myassignmenthelp.com/uk/do-my-coursework.html. I recently used their services to write my coursework, and I'm very satisfied with the results. Their services are also quite affordable. If you need help with assignments, essays, or other academic tasks, I recommend checking them out. You can learn more about their offerings on their website.

Rating has slipped a bit but back with a 98.5% beloved Grand Prix Attack win with 2700 game rating evil

Move over big boys I am coming back. Never worry about tilts, they are a sign that good times are coming!
