Nay, I take note of what you said, don't worry, I back down.

humility is a particularly admirable quality, which I should probably have more of. Respect.

So the good news is: I found an analysis board : D, just a little tricky to find at first;

@Tonya_Harding, I wasn't so much looking for a chess engine right away as looking for the analysis board straight up but an engine is certainly commendable and something I'd be interested in looking into since I'm really interested in opening exploration.

On the other side of things I could say: "Don't you realise I wasn't looking for an engine I was looking for a board in which I could explore openings? Can't you read?"
But this wouldn't be very sporting...
I'm still very newby when it comes to 4player chess and even when it comes to chess in general, it doesn't always inspire new people to join our community if we make concerted efforts to make them feel like idiots (even if something seems obvious to us).

I have nothing against you, but I guess I am a little surprised you'd feel the need to place yourself in such high esteem against myself even if your are significantly higher rated than me... some people would see that as a reason to knock you down a peg or two.

All the same I hope you have a good day and good luck with your chess.

Yes, I have actually heard of multidimensional chess and seen videos on it, it is very interesting certainly, especially from my viewpoint as a mathematics student.

I think 3D chess closest resembles "our own" real universe if you like if you consider the time dimension to take the form of the moves taken on the chess board. In this sense, 3D chess can be somewhat analagous to the concept of Spacetime but with positional nodes instead of the curves we find in nature.

The engine free board is fine for me since even at this early stage it can be used for self-analysis of never before discovered openings, and I certainly appreciate the complexity that would be involved in creating an engine to create the analysis.

I play teams 4pc as its a lot more methodical and resembling of classical chess (since both teams must constantly make moves to respond to the other). Because of this it is better for openings and I've become a little obsessive on 4pc teams opening theory.

I'm also interested in the idea of very large chessboards with a lot more pieces...

I've not published it, but to myself I invented this version of 2 player chess that requires 4 chess sets and 4 boards.

I play on ipad not phone, but the mobile app only has 1/7 of the things that chess.com has. Yup I had to go to chess.com just to say this

I use a touch pad that doesn't play well with arrows. So analysing after a game only works one way (if analysing with another player).  It's possible to open a second analysis board but there's no obvious way to invite another player into chat.

The natural way to analyse with another player would be to actually play out the moves and chat as you do.  But after-game doesn't work this way. Both players see different boards.  Can't we enter a "common board" mode so one can do this naturally?

Hit "A" after hitting the 4 player button on the top.
