At the end of 2017..how much improvement should i expect with similar progress

The higher you go, the harder it is to gain. It takes more and more effort. That being said, there's no reason you can't get to 1800 with enough time and training by next year's end.

There is nothing exceptional about improving 400 points from a beginner level at any age, but it is is admitable all the same.

You should not have "expectations". You should continue to figure out what you most need to learn and what skills need to be developed or improved, then set about the task. Feedback from your games will tell you whether you are doing the right thing ...
... with the proviso that you might experience a temporary dip in results when you have changed your way of playing, before the changes become familiar and integrated into your thought processes.
