As far as I know, if the draw is claimed then it's a draw.
50 move rule?

I remember something like, if there is a pawn on the board, if it even moves up once after 50 moves, the 50 move count gets reset. I figure may be the same for say getting the king to the corner from the center

I help run 1 day scholastic tournaments for kids that are on average rated around 500-600. You get those games where 1 kid will have a king and queen vs. a king. I have to stand there and have to track the 50 move rule, and call the draw. The kid with the queen starts crying saying they have a queen and should get the win.

I did not know that TDs could be the person to claim the draw.
I was curious, lets say a Bishop + Knight endgame, it's passed the 50 move and there is a mate in one, is it still considered a draw?
Btw, I've been trying to get my hands on a tournament rule book to try to avoid draconian stuff, any suggestions? Preferably USCF
