Not sure if it was mentioned previously, but if one is intending to disable chat, one should show the opponent courtesy by letting them know.
Ha, wouldn't THIS be funny:
me: "hey I'm gonna disable chat, do you mind?"
opponent: <disables chat>

babs and i have a game going (still) and right after the game started she said some stupid thing about how she wondered how long it would take her to disable chat--that's when i disabled it.
I guess you could negotiate a possible rematch in advance. Something like:
Apollo Creed: Ain't gonna be no rematch.
Rocky: Don't want one.
It makes my heart glad to see that C.c is devoid of those nasty, vile, little posters, who shamelessly resort to using cheap, disreputable tactics like sarcasm or irony.

Not sure anyones mentioned the most important terms needing negotiation....
Coordinating outfits for you and your opponent! Lets say your opponent is wearing orange, why is for another time, and youre wearing a cute fuchia sweater with little tiny black polka dots on it.
Just doesnt work and will be too distracting while trying to make the move of a lifetime working your way towards GM!
Another thing is bad breath. Now, sure, halitosis can hit anyone at any time, but good chess etiquette says FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, PLEASE POP A MINT!
