A puzzle like ending

Played a game with a really good player.  His rating may not be super high, but I thought he was good.

Really cool ending.  Much like a mating puzzle of the day.

i believe we should mention here it was a blitz game, many inaccurate moves were made under time pressure.....anyway well done immortal

In the first game, why not 26. Qh6 directly, how does black defend? 26. ... Nf6 27. Nd5 forking the queen and the defender. Looks like game over to me.

So if I understand you correctly.  You are suggesting  26. Qh6 instead of Qf4.

Okay so: ...26 Qh6 27. Nf2+ (losing the rook and the game).  Would be a gigantic blunder.

in the top game ion move 25 you could h ave played Qh6 threatening  mate. Then Nf6 which then white plays Nd5 threatening queen and also taking  the only defender stopping the mate!

Skeptikill, I already wrote that, and immortalgamer already pointed out that black has Nf2+. (I assume you mean move 26 instead of move 25.)
