thanks to kosmeg so I can know that a mate is possible just using one knight:

Mate with ONLY a knight lol

edited now with the puzzle.

surely any of the pawns can take the knight...therefore it isnt mate
Raito
haha, check it, its a mate! look at the notation!

...? I don't get it. But maybe you are interested in a smothered matesmothered mate
BirdsDaWord
You can mate with one knight in a smothered mate, but that example is not correct.  You ought to fix it and not try to confuse beginners.
Raito
Yeah, it's a smothered mate...The puzzle is correct, the pawn is on 7th rank not the second rank so the pawn is going up.

very funny, hahaha ( cinical), even though there is a famous mating pattern like this:

Ender_the_dragon
Cute.  Yes, after reading Raito's explanation, it is indeed a legitimate mate, albeit one that would never occur in the real world.  Still, kudos for recognizing the possibility, however statistically improbable.

What are you talking about it would never occur in the real world?  Just for saying that I am going to make it happen =)

I like it.

Reminds me of another old trick, offer your opponent a game where they can remove as many of your pieces as they like, in exchange you get one move for each piece removed, hope for their greed, or talk them into taking all your pieces. Seven moves, as White, 1 g4 - 2 e4 - 3 g5 - 4 e5 - 5 g6 - 6 e6 - 7 ef7#

All these things are good for a laugh and illustrating some of the extreme possibilities that can exist.
