accused of cheating

Yeah, I know, another topic like this.  But 3 times by 3 different players all in 1 hour (?)  Is that how live chess works here?

I was surprised though the type of people that accuse me of cheating... 2 were beating me pretty badly then lost on time (or started blundering lots due to low time).  One was a really unspectacular game where I won a pawn and after a mountain of bad technique eventually queened a pawn.

There is unfortunately lots of cheating going on at chess.com as the site has a huge free membership.

As your account is recent and your ratings are high, it's normal people are suspicious.

shell_knight

Oh, that makes sense.  I guess that's why they tell me "another cheater"  Thanks for the response, it makes me feel not so bad about it :)

shell_knight

I usually look at my blitz games with an engine (very quickly, nothing serious).

Every single game I've looked at has big tactical blunders by both sides... as expected.  I wish people who accused were a little more rational about it.  If you crush me with amazing tactics I'm going to wonder... but if it's a regular sloppy game then no need to post explicit comments.

DrSpudnik

Unfortunately, if you beat someone, odds are they'll say you cheated. How else can you beat a low-rated genius!

LOL kaynight

but you know, have you checked if you are being  accused for blitz or for correspondence chess?

shell_knight

Yeah, I checked, they were blitz opponents.

Correspondence is a much better argument, no big tactical oversights (that I know of lol).

But I sent out 50 seeks and got 50 people rated 1200-1500 so...

Very different players so far actually.  Some lose before move 20, and some are in equal (maybe even slightly better) positions.

Disable chat and they can complain to the air.

shell_knight

I disable chat with the settings thing (it does it automatically).  They posted on my notes.

SneakySwashbuckler25

this annoying guy kept typing stuff like"so agressive lol".Then lost spectacularly.

You think that's bad!

I'm being accused of being Kasparov_Jr.

I still find it hard to believe that anyone, fee-paying or not, would bother to sign up to this site & waste actual time gaining a completely ficticious score which, ultimately, is not proven to reflect your ability anyway. Undecided

For no money!

Well, keeping calm is good either way.

So they won't be silenced. Well then I'd say it's time for some totally immature revenge. Start posting messages on their home page accusing them of being the father of your five kids and that you want child support. Oh and then threaten to expose them on the Jerry Springer show.

You have to be small-minded to understand.

My favorite was when I queensacked and boden's mated (thanks tactic's trainer) some schmuck who instantly accused me of being a cheat and resigned his entire account on the spot!!

Yes, premoves are unknown to the noobs (no premoves on yahoo chess for example) and every once in a while you are called a cheat because of them.  I like when I have 2.2 seconds left and they have 10 seconds and I just move premove my king a dozen times back and forth and they lose on time, it's a hoot!  What's funnier is when I decline the rematch!  Bwahaha.
