Actual Board Play

Hello, this is my first time posting here at Chess.com, and I would like to request help with playing over the board. I find that playing online or on my phone is actually easier than playing with real pieces, I tend to miss obvious pins or hanging pieces, etc, when i'm playing on an actual board. If anyone has some advice, a mindset, some tips, or anything else on how to play an actual game of chess, it would be greatly appreciated because I hope to be playing in some tournaments or in clubs sometime soon.

I tend to agree with that.

It's harder to play over-the-board if you are used to playing online. So what I would recommend is:

(1) Play REAL chess... over-the-board chess. The downside is that you may not have someone strong enough to play against in your area.

(2) In that case, you can do your training on a real chess board. Say solve puzzles, play through GM games, etc. on a REAL board.

If you like, since you will be competing in tournaments and I'm looking for someone to play with (slow chess G/60 at least), we can play online...BUT here's a twist. Set up a board near your PC, make your moves (and mine) there, play it on the PC, rinse and repeat until we finish the game.

What do you say? :)
