**sorry for the somewhat long post. if you understandably dont feel like reading it all, I'd appreciate any thoughts on what benefits purchasing fritz 13 in addition to having a mega database with stockfish, critter, etc.?

hi guys, I have a somewhat basic question here, as I am relatively new to utilizing computers to better my chess playing.

After a long hiatus after i stopped naturally progressing ,   (my training regiment was 2 minute blitz and beer...wonder how that didnt work out?) I decided to create a REAL learning regimen that I implicated not long ago and..well the ridiculousness of my progress ive made is whole different story..but I digress.

Part of my new training involves using modern computer technology to improve. this includes picking up chessbase w/ mega database (albeit not 2014), downloading stockfish and critter for engine analysis; a big part of my training is analyzing and annotating all of my standard time chess games, but of course there are many uses and one could get quite creative.

THAT SAID: WHAT DOES FRITZ 13 'BRING TO THE TABLE'?Fritz 13 is already an obsolete version and can be bought next to nothing, which is why I am referring to 13 anbd not 14.

I am still new to this and trying to understand the differe3nce an d nuances of these programs and how they optimally work together. Even if you think fritz is not worth it and is total poop, what benefits does the company market to the public as reasons to add this to your chessbase repetoire?

It seems that unless you're eithyer super well informed or have hands on experience (impulse buy strategy anybody :P ) there are some grey areas on the differences of these programs, and how exactly they work synergistaclly together to create a more powerful chess tool.

Thanks !
