Hi so recently I've been on a bad OTB tilt mainly because the time control is pretty fast though I am a fast player myself Ive lost quite a few games because of time scrambles. My OTB before I started playing these tournaments was like 1970s and now I believe ill be 1910-1920s after those 2 tournaments how do I prevent myself from tilting even more? And please excuse my grammar as I'm typing this during lunch. Thanks in advance happy.png

Can't really help because I only played 2 OTB. But I just sort of play, and if you lose you lose. You can't really do anything about it. You can't be at your peak performance the whole time either.

Thanks for the advance payment

The rating goes up and down. And this movement does not always reflect the shape of a player. It is completely normal.

Don't worry about it. Forget the rating.

Just work hard and constantly, and victories will come when you are ready for them and you have put in enough work.

Whenever I start to have a bad tournament, I focus on the good moves I played in my losses. I know I’m capable of playing better, but I can’t change the past, so i just forget, and play better next time.

Of course, easier said than done.

interesting yeah maybe that's what I should do and maybe work harder as I've gotten lazier recently

Take a slight otb break and when you come back do longer games (45 minute+) then really focus on trusting your instinct so that you spend less time. Blitz out the opening that you know, then spend time on key moves. Don't make it complicated, just check for blunders, etc... You would be surprised how far your instinct will take you. Good Luck! I hope this helps!

i don't think it's work harder.

I feel like you get hung up on a lot of things which affects your mental state, making you play worse.

I disagree with you your good at OTB how else do you think you get 1900 by not playing good?

Don’t play fast time control events where you are one of the top seeds. Or don’t worry about your rating and just play for fun.
