I'm confused,  he's out playing super GM's with it!

its good in speed chess bec blacks king is expose but its bad in rapid 
to play it u need to be vry precise bec u r simply down 2 points of material

It's tricky. He got an equal position against fabi with it (before losing)

He did beat Levon Aronian with it tho. Also against Fabi getting an equal position is still impressive.

He also beat David Howell with it ....

I mean seriously ,what's going on ! He sacrificing a piece against those super GM's and either beats them or getting superior positions , unbelievable. Also it's not like they are all playing non sense moves etc.... Caro can pretty solid opening ....

It depends what you mean by legit. Is it sound according to the engine? No. Is it an offbeat weapon that’s hard to defend against practically in speed chess against unprepared opponents? Most definitely.

Is it solid?

Solid? God, no. It’s aggressive and relies heavily on imbalance and your opponent’s forced weak king. But it’s remarkably tricky to defend against.

It's the Nd2 Caro but after Nxe4 you go Ng5 and Nxf7

Can you just attach it

With the idea to take the f7 pawn and expose the king. You can also play it with nc3 instead of nd2, mostly.

If you want the same feel as the Alien Gambit but feel like it's too unsound, try this line of the Endgame Offer variation. Pretty much zero risk for an even higher reward.

When you come across a gambit, take the first free pawn but never take the 2nd free pawn

Then you've basically refuted all the main gambits. Greed is the only way you lose to a gambit
