Chess unites everyone. I have played people from all four corners of the world. There is no “typical” chess player. People of all nationalities, ages, religions, and beliefs play each other. In the real world, people from different nations sometimes hate each other, yet I have played people from nations that have (and still do) hate Finland. Yet I have not had anyone while playing chess hate me for who I am.
