Americans Are Stupid: They Elected a Black man for President

I beat some guy in a chess match in Live Chess, and he proceeded to telling me how I am a stupid American, and how America is doomed because we elected a Black man for president.

I, for one, am glad that he told me I am a stupid American, I wasn't aware of that. Now I know.

My biggest curiosity, though, was, if he was mad because I beat him and I am American, or because I beat him and I am Black? Maybe both. Laughing

We don't worry about food, water, oppression, like they do. You should feel pity for them. I do.

It's amazing how many people revert to personal attacks when they lose a game.

To me, it makes me proud to be American when I know the other guy is hella pissed he lost to an American. The fact that my nationality burns them deep wiht envy and angers pleases me. Is like rubbing salt on an open wound. Not only did I beat you at chess, but guess what, I'm American. ZING. OUCH.

No. Most other countries "hate" us because of the same smug, superior attitude you exhibit in the post I quoted. When I have gone abroad, I often found myself cringing at the behavior of Americans (mostly teenagers) acting like fools.

Why are we so smug? Our culture is a joke. We sit around on our fat behinds watching Paris Hilton reality shows and then go see Iron Man 14 at the multiplex. Even our "history" channel has nothing but pawn stars, swamp people, and other stupid pap.

We make nothing. At least nothing worth having except for a few electronic goods. We are in debt to everyone and their sister, and yet... we scorn them.

Quite frankly... the only thing we are better than anyone else at is blowing things up and killing people. We are real good at that.

America really needs to wake up and return to something real, before its to late. It probably already is.

The guy had an Indian flag, by the way. And I understand what you're saying, but I don't necessarily "pity" other nations, I pity the idiots of every nation. I certainly am proud to be where I am from, though.

I still can't see what a nationality has to do with a chess match. I guess if you want the truth of how someone feels, beat them in a game of wits and strategy, and they won't be able to stop themselves from spurting out their ridiculous prejudices; if they're a sore loser, of course.

I"m sorry you had to deal with that.  There are so many idiots out here in the internet wilderness.  If you really want to do something log an "abuse report" and they might take some action.  Staff here is extrememly responsive.   Usually the best thing to do is to take a "screen capture" of the offensive remark(s) and attach it to the complaint.  You can do that here:

With regard to the post #2, I think that her attitude while not in responsible for the problem  irritates a lot of people, especially those predisposed to thinking poorly about us as a nation. Btw, that includes people like me.  I'm an American, I'm proud of what a lot of my country does but I'm also a realist who knows that my country has been involved in countless unethical and immoral actions against others.  Her line about how we're the "greatest" on earth and all that kind of stuff is just irritating, especially when by so many measures we are FAR from the greatest on earth.   Take a look at our death rates, our infant mortality rates...ah but don't get me started.

Perhaps. But the "We are awesome" attitude prevents us from solving the very real problems in this country. It annoys me.

If you think that you are superior to others because you are an American, you deserve to be called a dumb American.

American wealth? Great. American culture? Needs some work. I can list a bunch of things that need work here, but that's beside the point. It's still really stupid for someone to generalize like that because they lost a chess match. I imagine some people play chess with a frown on their face, even if they're winning. There should be a reminder somewhere on the chess.com website's interface that says, "Chess: It's Just A Game." Some people just don't get it.

Sadly, I didn't prt sc the posts he made, next time I will be sure to use the report feature with photo evidence. One idiot gone is enough for me. =p

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some . . . people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraw, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over HERE in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children.

That is all.

RobertIhol,

The fact that anyone tries to label another person as stupid on the basis of a racist idea...should be prove enough that you were dealing with someone who was under the curve when it came to IQ. I wouldn't even bother trying to analyze any sense on whatever their childish and mindless remarks meant Just my 2 cents.

Our wealth is completely contingent on pilfing other nations' resources and third world slave labor. The number one leading cause of dictators across the world is United States interventionism. We are at war with two nation who have never attacked us, and have killed 100 of thousands of human beings, because it is very profitable for war contractors and oil companies. We live in a culture that has been fabricated be economic and social elites in order to convince us that the only reasonable purpose for a human being to contribute to society is so that he/she can go to the mall more often then other people who don't work as hard. Racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia are not only culturally rampant here but endorsed by our institutions and political parties.

So no, I don't think people hate us because we "live more comfortable lives."

Also, I'm very proud to have done nothing to be proud of.

I was born in St Louis MO in The United States Of America on January 17 1967.My Mother was born in Missippi and her mother and father brought her and their family to St Louis to get away from the south, like lots of African American familys did at the time. These people left because of the racist attitudes of many people in the American south. It is now June 2011. These people with these racist attiutdes still exist and unfortunatly they always will.As a child I always thought the world would be a better place as i got older, that the things my people before me had to endure would not be on the shoulders of me and my children.I worked hard to make sure my children did not have to deal with these kind of people, but I did not hide the fact that these people exist.Me and my children dont see color, never have never will !We only see people !Americans that think that they are better than the other people in the world make all of us look bad in the eyes of the world ! So though you may not like Mr Obama for whatever reason, at least he not a racist pig, at least he hopes he can make a change in the way we are seen by people abroad! Nothing anyone can say ,will change the minds of people that dont care about other people ! I hope and pray that the number of americans that want peace for all people is stronger than those that think they are better than others...I know it is. And Mr Obama is not just black, he is white also but thats all you see right?   ONE LOVE To The People of The World... PEACE !

Your immaturity is a perfect example of what is wrong with so many of our countrymen.  And, btw I don't believe that this exclusive to only our nationality. I trimmed your comment to show your silliness.

It is the sign of maturity to accept both our strengths and our weaknesses.  We all have them.  A mature person (or in this case a mature "people" or nation) does not behave as though there is something wrong with saying "I'm sorry".   As mature people we can both, as you say, "thank god for america" (if we believe in god) while at the same time notice that we are in fact NOT GOD and therefore will make mistakes.   Just like I was told when I was a child and I tell my own children now, "everyone makes mistakes AND it's really important to notice them and then to apologize AND then do better the next time.

It's time to grow up.
