An important chess habit I struggle to maintain

"To stop and analyze before moving" is what I am referring to. After each move, when it's your turn, don't move immediately but stop briefly, and analyze the position to make a suitable move - It may sound unnecessary, but I've found out the hard way: from losing a winning game to overlooking tactical opportunities, only now I understand that this habit is in fact, a must

I need help to maintain this habit during chess games, if you have any ideas, please write them down below. Thank you very much!

In each position, commit to spending at least 10-15 seconds analyzing, even if you think you see a good move instantly. Use a clock or timer to hold yourself accountable in practice games.

An old classic is to sit on your hands when it's not your move. The time spent moving your hand to make a move on the board is cue to stop and think.
