Any Anti-Sicilian lines?

Sort:

I've played 1.e4 for nearly all of my chess games as white, however, I've run into the sicilian defence and its many theoritical and sharp lines. Since I am quite lazy and don't want to study up on all of the main sicilian lines, I am looking for a reliable anti-sicilian to put my opponents into my familiar territory of play. I enjoy playing ruy lopez structures and slowly develop an attack on the kingside. Any suggestions for an anti-sicilian line?

If that's the case, I'd try the Grand Prix Attack or the Closed Sicilian - both are relatively positional, and involve slow buildups of kingside attacks via pawn storms mainly.

Both require a strong understanding of pawn structures though, and I'm not sure if you're quite on the level to start playing them, but you can definitely give it a shot - there are plenty of youtube videos on the Grand Prix attack and Closed Sicilian, and these openings can transpose into one another.

The GPA:

Here's are (flawed, but ideas are representative of the closed sicilian/GPA) games that I played using this opening. The attacks white gets are slow, but can be very strong.

*There's no need to point out my blunders btw, if you spot them - I've analyzed each of these games carefully and I'm fully aware wink.png

Finally, here is a game I'm currently playing in this opening - it represents more of a closed sicilian - please make no suggestions for me in this game.

Although I'm just an intermediate player, I do understand the ideas of these openings, so hopefully you can decide if you like the general "jist" of the opening from these games.

My group covers all Anti-Sicilians, admittedly from the Black side, but maybe it'll help you on your way nevertheless.
