whats your current elo?

Focusing on a rating is not the best way to become a better chess player. Also, picking one opening or another is not the way to improve. A better goal would be to improve your understanding of basic opening principles.

What is the best way to do this? Stop playing bullet and blitz. Those encourage young players to develop bad habits that only interfere with your progress. Stick with slow time controls.

is there an OTB club in your area? If so, join it. Find players there who will discuss your games afterward.

Another recommendation is to study the classic books that provide instruction in opening, ending, and middlegame planning. A month with some classic instructional books is more helpful than a month of playing blitz or bullet.

Why should anyone interfere in the arrangements you may have with your parents? At its worst, it sounds like a kind of blackmail, but of whom and by whom? tongue.png

Are there any fixed openings that you normally play for Black or White? Try to find one that suits you

london for white, and no fixed opening for black.

Also look out for tactics or in-between moves. I see in your last game you lost your knight because of that

yea but it's easier said than done. I'm already trying my best to avoid blunders, but multiple-step tactics I can't see them.

I agree, and I'm not playing much bullet or blitz recently (occasionally a few but just for fun). However I must reach 1200 rapid elo goal tomorrow, or else my account will be closed. It's not a matter of choice actually lol. If I do reach it tho, I'll watch videos and do puzzles, and study opening theory. I can't get any books, but I think some wikipedia is enough lol 😂. And no there are no OTB chess clubs in my area.
